Self Portrait

Self Portrait Made out of Acrylic Paint
I spent about six hours today working on this portrait, and honestly, I got so wrapped up in it that I didn’t even realize how long I’d been painting! I’ve been experimenting with acrylics more lately, and it’s been a real learning experience. One thing I forgot about acrylics is how quickly they dry, so I ended up remixing paint a lot throughout the day, especially when I wanted to smooth things out a little bit.
The details were definitely the most difficult part of this painting. I don't have a wide range of smaller brushes, and even the ones I do have feel a bit too big for fine details. It also makes it hard to create those delicate lines and textures that would make the portrait even more lifelike. Maybe I should try working on a larger canvas next time, but for now, I’m sticking with sketchbooks since they’re more affordable.
I’ve mostly worked with alcohol markers and pens in the past, so using acrylics has been a bit of a shift for me. I’ve always found it hard to achieve that realistic feel with markers, but I’m determined to give it a shot sometime soon. For now, I’m just really happy with how this turned out, and I hope to post more art soon. I’m excited to keep practicing and to take more time with my creations.
Thanks for checking out my work, and have a great day!
